.Heavy rain occurring to the southeast of the Southshore will move
into the New Orleans metro likely leading to minor flooding in the
usual problem spots. If the rain becomes more persistent a Flash
Flood Warning will be needed.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southeast Louisiana, including the following
parishes, Jefferson, Orleans, St. Bernard and St. Charles.
* WHEN...Until 100 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 952 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
New Orleans, Metairie, Avondale, Marrero, Harvey, Jefferson,
Gretna, Harahan, Westwego, Bridge City, Elmwood, River Ridge,
Waggaman, Estelle, Woodmere, Terrytown, Arabi, Ama, St. Rose
and New Orleans Armstrong Airport.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
