Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern/Central MO and Southwest IL
National Weather Service Saint Louis MO
406 AM CDT Tue Apr 16 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Showers and thunderstorms will impact the region, but widespread
impactful rainfall will elude us. Winds will intensify through the
day today, gusting up to 40mph, as a strong system approaches.
Warm weather will continue today, but temperatures won`t approach
the values we saw the last few days.

A warm, dry west/southwest wind will send RH values lower on
Wednesday, with southeast Missouri falling into the upper 20s. If
winds are stronger than currently forecast, elevated fire danger
will exist in this region. That said, the forecast currently has
the winds further north where RH values are higher. Following
additional showers and a few thunderstorms Thursday, more
seasonable conditions and dry conditions will exist through the
weekend.
