The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Tidal Potomac from Cobb Island MD to Smith Point VA...
  Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD...

* Until 115 AM EDT.

* At 1219 AM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from near Quantico to 20 nm southwest of Potomac Creek,
  moving east at 45 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and small hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Boaters in small craft could be thrown overboard by
           suddenly higher winds and waves capsizing their vessel.

* Locations impacted include...
  Potomac Creek, Breton Bay, Widewater, Saint Clements Bay, Maryland
  Point, Nanjemoy Creek, Port Tobacco River, Leesylvania State Park,
  Quantico, Cobb Island, Swan Point, Coltons Point, Nomini Bay,
  Mathias Point, U.S. 301 Nice Memorial Bridge, Wicomico River, Popes
  Creek, Brent Point, Smallwood State Park, and Westmoreland State
  Park.
