An atmospheric river of moisture off of the eastern Pacific will
bring an extended period of moderate to heavy rain to the Cascade
crest and over the Idaho Panhandle Monday through Tuesday. Mild
temperatures will also result in low and mid elevation snow melt
during this period. The combination of rain and melting snow is
expected to result in rises on rivers, small streams and creeks for
early next week. In particular, the Stehekin River in the Cascades
and Paradise Creek on the Idaho Palouse will see sharp rises:
 -
Paradise Creek in Moscow will rise to around 6.7 feet on Sunday. The
river will recede a little bit in between weather systems Sunday
night into Monday, but then see another rise Monday night through
Wednesday and looks to approach bankfull to between 7 and 8 feet
during this period.
 -
Stehekin River at Stehekin will rise Monday and reach bankfull to
between 22 and 23 feet by Tuesday and continue to run high into
Wednesday before receding during the latter half of the week.
