...ALREADY HIGH TIDES WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE...

.PERSISTENT EASTERLY WINDS AND A LARGE TIDAL CYCLE HAVE LED TO
TIDES GENERALLY RUNNING ABOUT 0.5 TO 1.5 FEET ABOVE NORMAL. THESE
EASTERLY WINDS WILL NOT LET UP FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS AND COULD END
UP PICKING UP SOME. COMBINE THAT WITH A SWELL LIKELY DEVELOPING
FROM TROPICAL DEPRESSION 9 AND TIDES COULD RUN OVER 2 FEET ABOVE
NORMAL WEDNESDAY AND INTO THURSDAY.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW ORLEANS HAS ISSUED A COASTAL
FLOOD WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH
THURSDAY MORNING.

* COASTAL FLOODING...TIDES POSSIBLY OVER 2 FEET ABOVE NORMAL

* TIMING...LATE TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY

* IMPACTS...TIDES AROUND 1 TO 2 FEET ABOVE NORMAL WILL LEAD TO
  INUNDATION OF LOW LYING COASTAL ROADWAYS AND AREAS NOT TYPICALLY
  SUBJECT TO COASTAL FLOODING DURING HIGH TIDES OUTSIDE OF
  PROTECTION LEVEES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A COASTAL FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS FAVORABLE FOR
FLOODING ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP. COASTAL RESIDENTS SHOULD BE
ALERT FOR LATER STATEMENTS OR WARNINGS...AND TAKE ACTION TO
PROTECT PROPERTY.
