...JULY 2017...WARMER AND DRIER THAN NORMAL...

UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE DOMINATED THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGION THROUGH
MUCH OF THE MONTH RESULTING IN HOT AND DRY WEATHER ACROSS THE DENVER
METRO AREA. THERE WERE PERIODS OF MONSOONAL MOISTURE DURING THE MONTH
WHICH BROUGHT SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO THE REGION. HOWEVER...THE
MAJORITY OF THE PRECIPITATION MANAGED TO AVOID DENVER WITH MOST OF THE
STORMS TRACKING ACROSS THE PALMER DIVIDE AND SOUTHEASTERN COLORADO.

TEMPERATURES:

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE AT DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR THE MONTH
WAS 76.4 DEGREES F, WHICH IS 2.2 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE WARMEST JULY
ON RECORD OCCURRED IN 2012 WITH AN AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE OF 78.9
DEGREES F. THE COLDEST JULY ON RECORD WAS 67.3 DEGREES WAY BACK IN
1895. ON THE 6TH AND THE 19TH...THE TEMPERATURE CLIMBED TO 100 DEGREES
F WHICH IS THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE RECORDED DURING THE MONTH. THE
COLDEST TEMPERATURE OF 51 DEGREES F OCCURRED ON THE MORNING OF THE 1ST.
