...SEPTEMBER WAS THE 16TH WARMEST ON RECORD IN OMAHA...WITH NEAR-
NORMAL RAINFALL...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 70.6 DEGREES WAS THE 16TH WARMEST
SEPTEMBER ON RECORD IN OMAHA, WITH SEVEN DAYS REACHING 90 DEGREES OR
HIGHER AND WITH A COUPLE OF WARM MINIMUM TEMPERATURES SETTING DAILY
RECORDS. THE TOTAL PRECIPITATION OF 2.59 INCHES WAS VERY CLOSE TO
NORMAL AND RANKED RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RECORDS, WITH NO RAIN
RECORDED IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE MONTH AND ALL RAIN FALLING ON FIVE
DAYS BETWEEN THE 16TH AND 26TH.

THE MONTH STARTED ON THE COOL SIDE, WITH A FEW NEAR- TO JUST ABOVE-
NORMAL DAYS BEFORE TEMPERATURES TOOK A COOL TURN ON THE 4TH THROUGH
THE 7TH. LOWS ON TWO OF THOSE DAYS REACHED THE UPPER 40S. WARM
TEMPERATURES EMERGED FROM THE 8TH THROUGH THE 25TH, WITH JUST ONE
DAY (THE 17TH) FALLING BELOW NORMAL. TEMPERATURES REACHED THE 90S ON
THE 13TH THROUGH THE 15TH, WITH THE WARMEST READING OF THE MONTH ON
THE 14TH AT 96 DEGREES. THE FIRST RAINFALL OF THE MONTH DIDN`T OCCUR
UNTIL THE 16TH, WITH 1.05 INCHES OF RAIN MEASURED ALONG WITH
REPORTED THUNDER.  THE COOLER WEATHER THAT FOLLOWED THIS RAIN DIDN`T
LAST LONG, WITH TEMPERATURES REBOUNDING ON THE 18TH DESPITE 0.26
INCHES OF RAIN IN THUNDERSTORMS AGAIN.  PARTICULARLY WARM WEATHER
ARRIVED FROM THE 19TH THROUGH THE 24TH. TEMPERATURES REACHED 90
DEGREES OR HIGHER ON FOUR OF THOSE SIX DAYS - THE 19TH AND THE 21ST
THROUGH 23RD. ADDITIONALLY, THE WARM MINIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 77
DEGREES ON THE 22ND SET A DAILY RECORD, BEATING A RECORD SET JUST
LAST YEAR, AND THE WARM MINIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 72 ON THE 23RD TIED A
DAILY RECORD.

A WET FEW DAYS ARRIVED ON THE 24TH TO 26TH, WITH 1.28 INCHES TOTAL
ON THOSE THREE DAYS ALONE. WHILE TEMPERATURES STARTED WARM ON THE
24TH, MUCH COOLER WEATHER ARRIVED ON THE 25TH, WITH DAYTIME HIGHS
BARELY EXCEEDING THE LOWS THE NIGHT BEFORE. TEMPERATURES DID RISE
BACK ABOVE NORMAL AGAIN ON THE 28TH THROUGH THE REST OF THE MONTH.
LOW TEMPERATURES OF 47 DEGREES ON THE 28TH AND 29TH WERE THE COOLEST
READINGS OF THE MONTH, MARKING THE 5TH WARMEST MONTHLY MINIMUM
TEMPERATURES IN SEPTEMBER.
