Generalized Statewide Coastal Waters Forecast for Hawaii

.Synopsis for Hawaiian coastal waters...
High pressure far northeast of the area and a surface trough
northwest of Kauai will support increasing east-southeast winds
over the coastal waters today through next week. An upper-level
disturbance will bring heavy showers and a slight chance of a
thunderstorms from south to north through Friday night.

Hawaiian waters within 40 nautical miles including the channels-


.TODAY...East winds 10 to 20 knots. Wind waves 3 to 5 feet. Mixed
swell northwest 7 feet and east 4 feet. Scattered heavy showers
and slight chance of thunderstorms.
.TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY...Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots around
Kauai...east 15 to 25 knots elsewhere. Wind waves 4 to 7 feet.
Mixed swell northwest 5 to 6 feet and east 4 to 6 feet. Haze.
Heavy showers likely and slight chance of thunderstorms.
.FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT...East winds 15 to 25 knots.
Wind waves 4 to 6 feet. Mixed swell northwest 3 to 4 feet and
east 6 to 7 feet. Haze. Showers likely. Slight chance of
thunderstorms through Friday night.
.SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY...East winds 15 to 25 knots. Wind waves 4
to 7 feet. Swell east 6 to 8 feet. Scattered showers.
