...PERIODS OF HEAVY RAINS EXPECTED THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING...

.WAVES OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO MOVE THROUGH
EASTERN KENTUCKY DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS TRAVELING ALONG A
STALLED FRONTAL BOUNDARY. THE CUMULATIVE EFFECT OF THESE WILL BE A
GOOD POTENTIAL FOR LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING FROM ANY HEAVY CLUSTER
OF SHOWERS AND STORMS. THE BEST CHANCE FOR HEAVY RAINS WILL BE
OVER THE SOUTHERN PARTS OF THE AREA WHERE BETWEEN 2 AND 4 INCHES
OF RAINFALL WILL BE POSSIBLE THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY AND
  SOUTHEAST KENTUCKY...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN SOUTH
  CENTRAL KENTUCKY...LAUREL...MCCREARY...PULASKI...ROCKCASTLE...
  WAYNE AND WHITLEY. IN SOUTHEAST KENTUCKY...BELL...CLAY...
  HARLAN...JACKSON...KNOX...LESLIE...LETCHER...OWSLEY AND PERRY.

* THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING

* SEVERAL ROUNDS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE OVER THE
  WATCH AREA THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING. THE HIGH WATER CONTENT IN THE
  AIR WILL LIKELY RESULT IN TIMES OF TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS. THIS
  RAINFALL IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE HEAVY RAINS OF THE PAST COUPLE
  OF DAYS MAY LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING ACROSS PARTS OF THE WATCH
  AREA.

* THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES
  ACROSS THE WATCH AREA...THOUGH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS WILL BE
  POSSIBLE WHERE THUNDERSTORMS TRAIN OVER TOP OF THE SAME
  LOCATIONS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
