THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED AN

* URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
  COMAL COUNTY...
  GUADALUPE COUNTY...
  NORTH CENTRAL BEXAR COUNTY...
  NORTHERN GONZALES COUNTY...
  SOUTH CENTRAL BASTROP COUNTY...
  SOUTHERN CALDWELL COUNTY...

* UNTIL 700 AM CDT

* AT 448 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS HAVE
  DETECTED THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS THE ADVISORY
  AREA. DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED RAIN RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER
  HOUR. THIS WILL CAUSE PONDING OF WATER ON ROADS AND MAKE DRIVING
  VERY HAZARDOUS.  DRAINAGE DITCHES AND SOME LOW WATER CROSSINGS MAY
  FLOOD AS A RESULT OF THE VERY HEAVY RAINFALL.  THE NEW BRAUNFELS
  AIRPORT PICKED UP NEARLY 1 INCH OF RAIN IN ABOUT 30 MINUTES.

* RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE MINOR FLOODING TO
  OCCUR...ESPECIALLY ALONG SMALL STREAMS AND NEAR LOW WATER
  CROSSINGS. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE MINOR FLOODING
  INCLUDE...LULING...NEW BRAUNFELS...SEGUIN...BULVERDE...CIBOLO...
  GARDEN RIDGE...GERONIMO...KINGSBURY...MARION AND MCQUEENEY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. DO NOT
DRIVE THROUGH AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.

MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW WATER CROSSINGS IF WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON
FOOT OR IN A VEHICLE.
