PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Heavy rains could cause river levels to rise even higher than predicted.

The National Weather Service will monitor this situation and issue follow
up statements as conditions or forecasts change.

Safety message:  Never drive any vehicle through flooded areas.
The water may be too deep to allow for safe passage.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Meramec River at Valley Park.
* At  9:30 PM Wednesday the stage was 16.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast: The river will rise to near 17.2 feet by Saturday evening.
  The river will fall below flood stage Sunday before midnight.
* Impact:  At 16.0 feet...Flood Stage.  Minor flooding begins.  Buder
  Park begins to flood.
* Impact:  At 12.0 feet...Sluice gates at 5th Street, 3rd Street, and
  Fishpot Creek at Union Pacific Railway tracks must be closed.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Meramec River near Arnold.
* At  9:30 PM Wednesday the stage was 34.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast: The river will rise to near 34.6 feet by after midnight tomorrow.
* Impact:  At 35.0 feet...A tavern near Highway 141 and Hilltop Drive
  begins flooding.  Also, Covered Bridge RV Park and Storage begins
  flooding near this height east of Highway 141.
* Impact:  At 34.5 feet...Widman Park along Telegraph Road begins
  flooding near this height.  Also, Meramec Bottom Road floods near
  Quail Creek Golf Club.
* Impact:  At 33.0 feet...Springdale Park floods at this height.
