FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE STATE COLLEGE PA
231 PM EST SAT DEC 3 2016

.DISCUSSION...

A GUSTY NORTHWEST WIND WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON...
BUT STEADILY DIMINISH BEGINNING EARLY TONIGHT. AFTER SOME
NARROW BANDS OF MORNING SNOW SHOWERS ACROSS THE CENTRAL AND
NORTHWEST MOUNTAINS...MAINLY FLURRIES AND SPRINKLES CAN BE
EXPECTED THROUGHOUT THE REST OF THE DAY OVER THE NORTHWEST
HALF OF THE STATE. THERE COULD BE A LIGHT ACCUMULATION OF
SNOW OVER THE NORTHWEST MOUNTAINS...MAINLY ACROSS THE RIDGE
TOPS.

TEMPERATURES SHOULD BE JUST A BIT TOO MILD FOR THE SNOW TO
STICK ELSEWHERE THIS AFTERNOON. THE REMAINDER OF THE REGION
WILL SEE LITTLE OR NO PRECIPITATION.

HIGH PRESSURE WILL SLIDE THROUGH ON SUNDAY ACCOMPANIED BY FAIR
WEATHER WITH LIGHT WIND. HOWEVER...A WEAK FRONT WILL MOVE
THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT. THIS WILL BRING A FEW PERIODS OF
MAINLY LIGHT SNOW OVER THE ALLEGHENIES AND LAURELS.
A MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW IS MORE LIKELY ACROSS THE SOUTHERN
PENNSYLVANIA COUNTIES...AS TEMPERATURES ARE TOO MILD FOR ALL
SNOW .
