Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northeast Montana
National Weather Service Glasgow MT
242 PM MDT Sun Jul 23 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT MONDAY FOR LOW
RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND GUSTY WIND FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 122, 134,
135, 136, AND 137...
...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM TO 9 PM MDT MONDAY FOR
LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND GUSTY WIND FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE 120...

.DISCUSSION...
Tonight: A disturbance from the southwest is expected to swing
across eastern Montana tonight. This could initiate light rain
showers, thunderstorms, possibly dry, and increase southeasterly
wind significantly. So there is a potential for explosive fire
growth from possible erratic nocturnal winds.

Monday: A cold front from Canada passes through the area. Wind
will shift around to the northwest and increase to around 15-25
mph, with higher gusts. Scattered light rain showers and
thunderstorms may also be generated during the evening, which
could cause erratic wind. Otherwise, most surface winds will
diminish during the evening as it veers more to the northeast.
