Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
Nantional Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
250 PM CST Sun Feb 26 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON...

.DISCUSSION...

This afternoon, RHs have dropped below 15% for most locations, and
given strong winds across the Guadalupe Mtns, a Red Flag Warning
will remain in effect through this afternoon. Poor/fair recovery is
expected tonight, and while winds will increase Monday, RHs across
higher terrain will improve above critical levels. Thus, the strongest
winds will not be collocated with critical RH (over the plains),
resulting in mainly elevated fire weather conditions. Focus remains
on Tuesday, as dry/warm conditions continue and southwesterly winds
increase areawide, potentially yielding widespread critical fire
weather conditions.
