FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
549 AM EDT Sat Jul 22 2017

...Strong storms possible this afternoon and evening...

.DISCUSSION: A low pressure system and cold front will move toward
Upper Michigan today from south central Canada and the northern Plains.
Expect some showers and thunderstorms later this morning over far
western Upper Michigan. More thunderstorms are expected this afternoon
into tonight over all of Upper Michigan. The storms this afternoon
into this evening could become severe with large hail and damaging
winds. Showers and thunderstorms will continue tonight then there
will be lingering showers on Sunday as the low pressure exits over
the central Great Lakes. Winds will shift to the north on Sunday
afternoon behind the front with gusts over 25 mph possible late
Sunday into Sunday evening. High pressure will bring light winds
and dry weather Monday but there is a chance of more showers and
thunderstorms on Tuesday as a low pressure trough moves in late
in the day.
