Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
304 PM PDT Sat Jun 24 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 11 PM PDT SUNDAY FOR
HAINES LEVEL 6 AND LOW HUMIDITY IN FIRE ZONES 640...641 AND 675...

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH
MONDAY EVENING FOR THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING ABUNDANT LIGHTNING AND
GUSTY OUTFLOW WINDS FOR FIRE ZONES 640 AND 644...

.DISCUSSION...High pressure over the area will lead to hotter and
continued dry conditions on Sunday. Haines 6 levels over much of
the area combined with low humidity has prompted a Red Flag
Warning to be issued for much of Central and North Central Oregon
and the Columbia Basin of Oregon and Washington. Moisture from an
approaching trough will lead to a few showers and thunderstorms
south of Bend Sunday night. The trough will move into the area
Monday with scattered thunderstorms from Central Oregon through
the eastern Oregon mountains. A Fire Weather Watch remains in
effect for the mountains of Central Oregon and the Southern Blue
Mountains on Monday. Additionally, breezy winds and low humidity
may create further fire weather concerns Monday and Tuesday
afternoons. Cooler and less dry conditions are expected Wednesday
through Friday.

***Thunderstorms imply strong gusty winds***
***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages***
