Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
337 AM MDT Sat Oct 21 2017

.Discussion...

A cold front was dropping south across the eastern plains this
morning, pushing to the New Mexico border by midday. Winds ahead
of the front will be strong out of the west, with gusts of 40 to
50 mph possible. As the front passes, winds will quickly swing
around to a north to northeast direction as colder air rushes in.
Isolated light snow showers over the central mountains this
morning are expected to diminish by midday.

Dry and warmer weather is forecast for Sunday and Monday, then
another quick moving cold front will cross the district on Tuesday.
After another quick turnaround for Wednesday as temperatures warm,
a stronger upper level low pressure system will approach the
state for Thursday and Friday.

The stronger surface winds today will produce Very Good to
Excellent smoke dispersion across the district by 0800 this
morning. Surface-based inversions will begin developing soon after
sunset this evening, with dispersion becoming Poor for all areas
by 2000.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
