FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR WEST VIRGINIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHARLESTON WV
1241 PM EST SUN MAR 1 2015

.DISCUSSION...
A WARM FRONT WILL PROVIDE PRECIPITATION TODAY. THE PRECIPITATION
WILL START AS SNOW IN CENTRAL OHIO AND NORTHERN WEST VIRGINIA...WITH
A WINTRY MIX POSSIBLE IN SOUTHERN OHIO...NORTHEAST KENTUCKY...AND
CENTRAL WEST VIRGINIA. FURTHER SOUTH...THE PRECIPITATION SHOULD
START AS RAIN. AS THE WARM FRONT PUSHES NORTHWARD
TODAY...PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE OVER TO RAIN.

A COLD FRONT WILL THEN PUSH THROUGH TONIGHT...ALLOWING ANY REMAINING
PRECIPITATION TO CHANGE BACK TO SNOW LATE TONIGHT.

A HIGH PRESSURE CROSSES THE AREA MONDAY INTO MONDAY NIGHT WITH DRIER
AND RELATIVELY COLD TEMPERATURES.

ANOTHER WARM FRONT PUSHES NORTH TUESDAY. THERE COULD BE A BRIEF
PERIOD OF FREEZING RAIN WITH THIS SYSTEM BEFORE SWITCHING TO ALL
RAIN BY MIDDAY TUESDAY. THE HEAVIEST RAIN LOOKS TO OCCUR ACROSS
PARTS OF THE WEST VIRGINIA LOWLANDS...NORTHEAST KENTUCKY...AND
SOUTHEAST OHIO WEDNESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY NIGHT. AREA CREEKS...ALONG
WITH MAIN STEM RIVERS...WILL NEED TO BE MONITORED DURING THIS PERIOD
FOR POTENTIAL FLOODING ISSUES.

A COLD FRONT WILL SWEEP ACROSS THE AREA THURSDAY...CHANGING ANY
LINGERING PRECIPITATION TO SNOW. COLDER TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED
FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK.
