CENTRAL NEW YORK.

RAIN IS EXPECTED TO TRANSITION TO SNOW THIS AFTERNOON INTO THIS
EVENING AS A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVES SOUTH OF THE REGION. SOME
ACCUMULATING SNOW IS EXPECTED...WITH LIGHT TO PERHAPS MODERATE
AMOUNTS. IF CONFIDENCE INCREASE FOR MODERATE SNOWFALL AMOUNTS...A
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MAY BE NEEDED.

CONNECTICUT...WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS...EAST CENTRAL NEW YORK
EXCLUDING THE SOUTHERN ADIRONDACKS AND SOUTHERN VERMONT.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

A HALF AN INCH TO THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH OR SO OF RAINFALL IS
EXPECTED TODAY INTO TONIGHT WHICH WILL LIKELY COMBINE WITH SOME
SNOWMELT TO PRODUCE SIGNIFICANT WITHIN BANK RISES ON RIVERS AND
STREAMS... ESPECIALLY FROM THE HUDSON VALLEY SOUTH AND EAST...AND
ACROSS PORTIONS OF WESTERN NEW ENGLAND. A FLOOD WATCH MAY BE
NEEDED LATER IN TIME IF THE POTENTIAL FOR WIDESPREAD FLOODING
INCREASES.

THERE IS ALSO THE POTENTIAL FOR ISOLATED ICE JAMS TODAY AS ICE
BREAKS UP ON SOME RIVERS AND STREAMS...PARTICULARLY FROM THE
MOHAWK VALLEY SOUTH AND EAST.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

THE THREAT OF WIDESPREAD HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS LOW.
