...HEAT ADVISORY IS CANCELLED...

The National Weather Service in Wichita has cancelled the Heat
Advisory.

Temperatures and heat indices will continue to fall as we move
through the evening hours and the threat for excessive heat has
ended.

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* Heat Index Values...around 105 due to temperatures in the mid
  90s...and dewpoints around 70.

* Timing...heat indices have peaked and will begin to diminish as
  we move through the early evening hours.

* Impacts...Outdoor workers are at risk for heat exhaustion or
  heat stroke this afternoon. Children and pets are also at risk
  if left in unattended cars.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Temperatures within vehicles can become lethal in a few minutes.
Never leave children or pets in vehicles. Remember to beat the
heat, check the backseat.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.
