.STRONG HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT WILL CAUSE CONDITIONS TO BE HOT ACROSS
THE INTERIOR NORTHWEST INTO THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK. THE WARMEST
LOCATIONS WILL BE BELOW 1500 FEET IN ELEVATION. TEMPERATURES
MONDAY WILL COOL SLIGHTLY DUE TO A BRIEF INCREASE IN THE ONSHORE
FLOW.

A HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PDT WEDNESDAY.

* TEMPERATURE: HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL RUN BETWEEN 100 AND 108 EACH
  AFTERNOON IN THE LOWER COLUMBIA BASIN OF WASHINGTON AND
  OREGON...THE EASTERN COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE EAST OF THE DALLES...
  THE LOWER YAKIMA VALLEY...THE KITTITAS VALLEY AND THE BLUE
  MOUNTAIN FOOTHILLS. OVERNIGHT LOWS AT MANY LOCATIONS WILL NOT
  FALL BELOW 65 DEGREES.

* TIMING: WARMEST CONDITIONS WILL OCCUR BETWEEN 1 PM AND 8 PM
  EACH DAY.

* IMPACTS: THESE HOT CONDITIONS WILL BE OF MORE CONCERN TO THE
  ELDERLY AND THE VERY YOUNG. WHEN CONDUCTING OUTDOOR
  ACTIVITIES DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING BE CAUTIOUS AND
  DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE...RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT
STROKE. WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN
POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.

TO REDUCE RISK DURING OUTDOOR WORK THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND
HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS SCHEDULING FREQUENT REST BREAKS
IN SHADED OR AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENTS. ANYONE OVERCOME BY
HEAT SHOULD BE MOVED TO A COOL AND SHADED LOCATION. HEAT STROKE
IS AN EMERGENCY - CALL 911.
