EFFECTIVE ON OR ABOUT WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28, 2015, THE NWS WILL
IMPLEMENT THE USE OF MIXED CASE TEXT IN SELECT RIVERPRO PRODUCTS
AT ALL NWS WEATHER FORECAST OFFICES (WFOS), INCLUDING NWS CORPUS
CHRISTI TEXAS (CRP).

THE FOLLOWING RIVERPRO PRODUCTS WILL BE ISSUED IN MIXED CASE
TEXT AT NWS CRP:

ESFCRP - HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK (IF USING RIVERPRO)
FFACRP - FLOOD WATCH FOR FORECAST POINTS (NOT THE GHG AREAL FLOOD
         WATCH)
FLWCRP - FLOOD WARNING FOR FORECAST POINTS (NOT THE WARNGEN AREAL
         FLOOD WARNING)
FLSCRP - FLOOD STATEMENT (FOR RIVER FORECAST POINTS):
       - FOLLOW-UP TO FLOOD WARNING FOR FORECAST POINTS (NOT THE

THIS IS A CONTINUATION OF THE RISK-REDUCTION EFFORT BEGAN IN
AUGUST 2010. AT THAT TIME, NWS BEGAN ISSUING NATIONAL PUBLIC
INFORMATION STATEMENT (PNS) PRODUCTS USING MIXED CASE TEXT AND
THE EXPANDED PUNCTUATION/CHARACTER SET:

IN OCTOBER 2011, SELECT WFOS BEGAN ISSUING THE AREA FORECAST
DISCUSSION (AFD), REGIONAL WEATHER SUMMARY (RWS) AND PNS PRODUCTS
IN THE MIXED CASE TEXT FORMAT:

NWS PARTNERS AND USERS OF THESE WFO TEXT PRODUCTS ARE ENCOURAGED
TO CONSIDER NWS INTENT AND COMMENT REGARDING THIS NEXT STEP IN
THE RISK REDUCTION EFFORT. USER FEEDBACK WILL HELP THE NWS BETTER
PLAN THE EVENTUAL TRANSITION OF ALL NWS TEXT PRODUCTS TO MIXED
CASE AND THE EXPANDED CHARACTER SET.
