...FROST ADVISORIES AND FREEZE WARNINGS WILL NO LONGER BE ISSUED
FOR NORTHWEST CALIFORNIA THIS WINTER SEASON...

AN AGRICULTURAL KILLING FREEZE OCCURRED OVER THE LAST TWO NIGHTS
ACROSS MUCH OF NORTHWEST CALIFORNIA. THUS FROST ADVISORIES AND
FREEZE WARNINGS HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED FOR THIS WINTER SEASON FOR
ALL OF NORTHWEST CALIFORNIA. FROST ADVISORY AND FREEZE WARNING
PRODUCTS WILL RESUME THIS COMING SPRING IN MARCH AND APRIL.

HOWEVER...HARD FREEZE WATCHES AND WARNINGS WILL CONTINUE TO BE
ISSUED FOR COASTAL DEL NORTE...COASTAL HUMBOLDT AND COASTAL
MENDOCINO COUNTIES THROUGHOUT THE WINTER WHEN CONDITIONS WARRANT.
A HARD FREEZE IS DEFINED AS OVERNIGHT LOW TEMPERATURES 29 DEGREES
OR LOWER FOR AT LEAST 2 HOURS OVER A SUBSTANTIAL PORTION OF VALLEY
LOCATIONS IN A ZONE. THIS PRODUCT IS ISSUED PRIMARILY TO HIGHLIGHT
THE POTENTIAL FOR THE FREEZING OF EXPOSED PIPES AND THE DANGERS TO
ANIMALS LEFT OUTSIDE IN THE COLD.
