SOUTHEAST GEORGIA AS HERMINE MOVED THROUGH THE AREA. THE HIGHEST
RAIN AMOUNTS FELL WELL INLAND FROM THE COAST. NO SIGNIFICANT
FLOODING WAS OBSERVED. A DAILY RAINFALL RECORD OF 2.32 INCHES WAS
SET AT THE CHARLESTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR SEPT 2.

UPROOTED. THE TORNADO WAS DETERMINED TO BE AN EF1 ON THE EF-SCALE
WITH ESTIMATED MAXIMUM WINDS OF 105-110 MPH. THE TORNADO PATH LENGTH
WAS ESTIMATED TO BE 1.67 MILES WITH A MAXIMUM PATH WIDTH OF 350
YARDS.

THE TORNADO WAS DETERMINED TO BE AN EF1 ON THE EF-SCALE WITH
ESTIMATED MAXIMUM WINDS OF 105-110 MPH. THE TORNADO PATH LENGTH WAS
ESTIMATED TO BE 4.83 MILES WITH A MAXIMUM PATH WIDTH OF 650 YARDS.

CLOSE TO 7000 PEOPLE WERE WITHOUT POWER DURING THE HEIGHT OF THE
STORM. AT ONE POINT DURING THE STORM...ALL ENTRANCES TO SUMMERVILLE
MEDICAL CENTER WERE CLOSED DUE TO A LIQUID OXYGEN LEAK THAT WAS
CAUSED BY A TREE THAT FELL ON THE EXTERNAL TANK.

RAIN FELL PRODUCING SOME MINOR FLOODING OF LOW LYING AREAS. SEVERAL
ROADS WERE CLOSED DUE TO FALLEN TREES. NO SHELTERS WERE OPENED. A
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION WORKER WAS INJURED DURING THE STORM
WHEN A TREE FEEL ON THE CAR HE WAS DRIVING WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CLEAR
ANOTHER TREE THAT HAD FALLEN ACROSS THE ROAD.

NUMEROUS TREES AND POWERLINES BLOWN DOWN ACROSS THE COUNTY. AT
EDISTO BEACH...AT LEAST TWO HOMES SUSTAINED DAMAGE FROM DOWNED TREES
AND HIGH WINDS ALSO CAUSED SOME ROOF AND SIDING DAMAGE TO SEVERAL
HOMES. MODERATE BEACH EROSION ALSO OCCURRED WHICH DAMAGED THE DUNE
LINE AND SAND FENCING.

STRUCK BY A FALLEN TREE. OVER 6 INCHES OF RAIN FELL ACROSS THE
COUNTY WITH NO REPORTS OF MAJOR FLOODING. OVER 600 PEOPLE WERE
WITHOUT POWER DURING THE HEIGHT OF THE STORM DUE TO TREES FALLING ON
POWERLINES.

TREES WERE BLOWN DOWN IN THE CITY OF METTER AS WELL AS THE EASTERN
PORTIONS OF THE COUNTY.

TREES WERE REPORTED DOWN THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY. ONE TREE FELL ON A
HOUSE ALONG FORENCE STREET IN SAVANNAH WHICH CAUSED SIGNIFICANT
STRUCTURAL DAMAGE. AT HUNTER ARMY AIRFIELD...TREES WERE BLOWN DOWN
ACROSS THE BASE. POWER OUTAGES REPORTED. HEAVY RAIN CAUSED SOME
ROOFS TO LEAK. HIGH WINDS DAMAGED A METAL ROOF ON ONE BUILDING AND
ALSO BROKE A WINDOW.

AT FORT STEWART...POWER OUTAGES ACROSS THE BASE. TREES BLOWN DOWN
ACROSS THE INSTALLATION. HIGH WINDS BLEW OVER A WALL LOCKER WHICH
DAMAGED A VEHICLE.

NUMEROUS TREES WERE BLOWN DOWN ACROSS THE COUNTY...INCLUDING THE
COMMUNITIES OF LAUREL BAY...LADYS ISLAND...HILTON HEAD AND BLUFFTON.
SOME TREES BLOCKED ROADWAYS AND FELL ON HOMES AND CARS CAUSING
VARIOUS DEGREES OF DAMAGE. IN HILTON HEAD...DOWNED TREES CAUSED
SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO 13 HOMES. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS
ESTIMATE THE TOTAL COST OF DAMAGE TO THESE HOMES IS APPROXIMATELY
