.DISCUSSION...HIGHER CLOUDS WILL BE ON THE INCREASE TODAY. HIGH
TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE 50S TO LOWER 60S WITH MINIMUM RELATIVE
HUMIDITY OF 30 TO 45 PERCENT. SOUTHEAST WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 15
TO 20 MPH, WITH SOME HIGHER GUSTS OVER NORTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA.

THE GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER INDEX WILL REACH THE HIGH CATEGORY THIS
AFTERNOON. UNFAVORABLE WEATHER CONDITIONS OR A LOW MOISTURE
CONTENT OF GRASSES, AND OTHER DRY ORGANIC MATERIAL ON THE GROUND,
INDICATE THAT THERE IS A MODERATE TO HIGH POTENTIAL FOR A FIRE
OCCURRENCE. OUTDOOR BURNING SHOULD BE RESTRICTED TO EARLY MORNING
OR EVENING HOURS WHEN WIND SPEEDS ARE USUALLY LOWER AND THE
RELATIVE HUMIDITY IS HIGHER.

THE OUTLOOK FOR FRIDAY AFTERNOON, THE GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER INDEX
WILL REACH THE LOW CATEGORY TO MODERATE CATEGORY.
