Water levels can be expected to rise rapidly on the North Fork of the Forked
Deer River and the South Fork of the Forked Deer River.


At 9 PM Thursday, the stage on the North Fork of the Forked Deer River at
Dyersburg was 7.5 feet and rising. The river is forecast to crest near 19 feet
Friday night. Flood stage is 22.0 feet.

At 9 PM Thursday, the stage on the South Fork of the Forked Deer River near
Halls was -2.3 feet and rising. The river is forecast to crest near 9 feet
Friday evening. Flood stage is 9.0 feet. At 8.5 feet, water is ponding on low
lying farmland.

The next River Statement will be issued Friday morning or sooner if conditions
warrant.
