...SMOKE WILL CONTINUE TO PUSH NORTHWEST FROM ONGOING WILDFIRE...

Smoke from the West Mims Wildfire in the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge
will continue to move northwest into Sunday impacting mainly Charlton
and Ware counties. Visibilities will be generally reduced to 1 to
3 miles but will be reduced to less than 1 mile at times generally
near and just northwest of the wildfire. Some locations impacted
the most will be Folkston...Racepond...Stephen Foster State Park...
and Waycross.

Although the general public may not be affected...children, pregnant women,
the elderly, and those that have heart or lung disease are especially
vulnerable to smoke exposure. Fine particles are respiratory
irritants, and exposures to high concentrations can cause
persistent cough, phlegm, wheezing, and difficulty breathing.
