...AN AREA OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT CENTRAL MAINLAND
HYDE...SOUTHEASTERN BEAUFORT AND NORTHEASTERN PAMLICO COUNTIES...

At 107 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were clustered near Sladesville,
or 25 miles north of Cedar Island, moving northeast at 10 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Swindell Fork, Fairfield, New Holland, Rose Bay, Nebraska, Lake
Landing, Lake Mattamuskeet and Swan Quarter Ferry Terminal.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
