...FUNNEL CLOUDS OBSERVED NEAR AND WEST OF PAYNESVILLE...

AT 515 PM CDT...FUNNEL CLOUDS WERE REPORTED OVER CENTRAL MINNESOTA
NEAR AND WEST OF PAYNESVILLE.

THE FUNNEL CLOUDS WERE PART OF A LINE OF SHOWERS AND ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM 15 MILES SOUTHEAST OF SAUK CENTRE TO
JUST NORTH OF HUTCHINSON. THE LINE OF RAINFALL WAS MOVING EAST AT
10 MPH.

THESE TYPE OF FUNNELS CLOUDS NORMALLY DO NOT TOUCH THE GROUND. AS A
RESULT...THEY RARELY DO ANY DAMAGE. NORMALLY...THEY LAST ONLY A FEW
MINUTES BEFORE DISSIPATING.

IN FACT...THE LATEST REPORT SUGGESTED THEY WERE ALREADY
DISSIPATING...AND WERE NOT EVEN HALFWAY DOWN TO THE GROUND.

ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS MAY CONTINUE TO BE FAVORABLE FOR THE
FORMATION OF ADDITIONAL FUNNEL CLOUDS THROUGH 6 PM.
