...TROPICAL STORM CHAN-HOM (09W) PASSING NORTH OF CHUUK...

AS OF 1000 CHST...TROPICAL STORM CHAN-HOM IS CENTERED NEAR
11N154E...WHICH IS ABOUT 285 MILES NORTH-NORTHEAST OF CHUUK. CHAN-
HOM IS MOVING TO THE WEST AT 12 MPH WITH MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS OF
50 MPH. TROPICAL STORM CHAN-HOM IS EXPECTED TO STAY NORTH OF CHUUK
AS IT HEADS TOWARD THE MARIANA ISLANDS. THE CIRCULATION NORTHWEST OF
KOROR NEAR 13N130E IS THE SUBJECT OF A TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION
ALERT BY THE JOINT TYPHOON WARNING CENTER...AND IS EXPECTED TO
SLOWLY HEAD TO THE NORTH-NORTHWEST. ANOTHER CIRCULATION JUST EAST OF
MAJURO IS CENTERED NEAR 7N173E.

ACTIVE MONSOON WEATHER CONTINUES ACROSS MICRONESIA. SCATTERED TO
NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS...GUSTY WINDS OF 20 TO
30 MPH AND COMBINED SEAS OF 8 TO 12 FEET WITH SEAS AS HIGH AS 15
FEET WILL CONTINUE ACROSS MUCH OF MICRONESIA THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.
SEA CONDITIONS WILL BE HAZARDOUS FOR THE OPERATION OF SMALL CRAFT
AND DANGEROUS FOR INTER-ISLAND TRAVEL ACROSS PALAU...YAP AND CHUUK
THROUGH THE WEEKEND...ACROSS POHNPEI THROUGH SATURDAY...AND ACROSS
KOSRAE AND THE MARSHALL ISLANDS THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT.

AT MAJURO...THE COMBINATION OF SPRING TIDES AND HIGH SEAS WILL CAUSE
MINOR COASTAL INUNDATION ALONG SOUTH AND WEST FACING SHORES THROUGH
THE WEEKEND.
