The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Chase County in east central Kansas...

* Until 830 PM CDT

* At 813 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Strong City,
  moving northeast at 40 mph.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
           mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Cottonwood Falls, Strong City, Saffordville, Tallgrass Prairie
  Preserve and Tallgrass Prairie.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
