  HIGHLANDS

* HAZARD TYPES...SNOW AND SLEET CHANGING TO FREEZING RAIN.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF UP TO 1 INCH...ALONG WITH A
  TENTH OF AN INCH COATING OF ICE.

* TIMING...SNOW AND SLEET WILL CONTINUE THIS AFTERNOON...MIXING
  WITH AND CHANGING TO FREEZING RAIN MID TO LATE AFTERNOON AND
  EVENING. PERIODS OF FREEZING RAIN ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE
  THROUGH LATE TONIGHT INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH
  EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES ARE POSSIBLE
  WHERE THE FREEZING RAIN IS HEAVIEST.

* WINDS...SOUTH 5 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.

* LOCATIONS...SOUTH CENTRAL AND CENTRAL MOUNTAINS....LOWER TO
  MIDDLE SUSQUEHANNA RIVER VALLEY.

* HAZARD TYPES...SNOW AND SLEET CHANGING TO FREEZING RAIN.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF UP TO 1 INCH...ALONG WITH A
  COATING TO SEVERAL HUNDRETHS OF AN INCH OF ICE. AREAS NORTH OF
  STATE COLLEGE AND LEWISTOWN MAY SEE BETWEEN ONE AND TWO TENTHS
  OF AN INCH OF ICE.

* TIMING...SNOW AND SLEET WILL MIX WITH FREEZING RAIN BEFORE
  CHANGING TO ALL FREEZING RAIN LATE AFTERNOON OR EARLY EVENING. A
  COMPLETE CHANGEOVER TO PERIODS OF LIGHT RAIN IS LIKELY OVER MUCH
  OF THE SOUTH CENTRAL MOUNTAINS AND LOWER SUSQUEHANNA RIVER
  VALLEY THIS EVENING. HOWEVER...AREAS OF LIGHT FREEZING OR
  FREEZING DRIZZLE MAY PERSIST FOR MUCH OF TONIGHT THROUGHOUT THE
  CENTRAL MOUNTAINS.

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL AND SLIPPERY UNTREATED WALKWAYS.
  ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES POSSIBLE WHERE THE FREEZING RAIN IS
  HEAVIER.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 1 TO 3 INCHES...ALONG WITH
  ONE TO TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH OF ICE.

* TIMING...SNOW AND SLEET WILL MIX AND THEN CHANGE TO FREEZING
  RAIN BY LATE AFTERNOON. PATCHY FREEZING RAIN OR FREEZING DRIZZLE
  WILL PERSIST INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL. SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES ARE
  POSSIBLE DUE TO THE WEIGHT OF THE ICE ON POWER LINES AND TREES.

* WINDS...SOUTH 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.
