...ICE STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FOR THE WESTERN COLUMBIA RIVER
GORGE UNTIL 4 AM PST SATURDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PORTLAND HAS ISSUED AN ICE STORM
WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM PST SATURDAY. THIS ICE
STORM WARNING REPLACED THE WINTER STORM WARNING.

* TIMING...THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...ONE HALF TO THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL WILL BE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. TREE DAMAGE AND
  POWER OUTAGES ARE LIKELY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

AN ICE STORM WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE
EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF ICE ACCUMULATIONS
WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS OR IMPOSSIBLE. TRAVEL IS STRONGLY
DISCOURAGED. COMMERCE WILL LIKELY BE SEVERELY IMPACTED. IF YOU
MUST TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT...FOOD...AND WATER IN YOUR
VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. ICE ACCUMULATIONS AND WINDS WILL
LIKELY LEAD TO FALLING TREE BRANCHES AND SNAPPED POWER LINES THAT
WILL ADD TO THE DANGER.

THE WINTER STORM WARNING FOR SNOW AND ICE IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL
4 PM PST THIS AFTERNOON.

* TIMING...SNOW CONTINUES NEAR THE CREST TODAY...BUT WILL COMBINE
  WITH A MIX OF SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN IN VALLEYS.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...ADDITIONAL SNOW OF 3 TO 5 INCHES IS
  POSSIBLE MAINLY ABOVE 4000 FEET.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...AN ADDITIONAL QUARTER INCH IS
  POSSIBLE...MAINLY IN PROTECTED CASCADE VALLEYS AWAY FROM THE
  CREST.

* SNOW LEVELS...4000 TO 4500 FEET.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL IS DIFFICULT AS ROADS HAVE BECOME SNOW COVERED
  AND ICY. ICE ACCUMULATIONS MAY BREAK BRANCHES AND ALSO CAUSE
  POWER DISRUPTIONS.

  THE WILLAMETTE VALLEY...AREAS WEST OF I-5 WILL MAINLY BE IMPACTED.

* TIMING...THROUGH LATE MORNING.

* AMOUNTS...ADDITIONAL ICE ACCUMULATIONS ONE TENTH OF AN INCH OR
  LESS.

* IMPACTS...MANY ROADS...SIDEWALKS AND BIKE PATHS WILL BE SLICK.
  TRAVEL ON UNTREATED ROADS WILL BE DIFFICULT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF FREEZING RAIN OR
FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS. SLOW DOWN AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
