...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING THROUGH
THURSDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast North Carolina, including the
  following areas, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Eastern Currituck, Gates,
  Hertford, Northampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans and Western
  Currituck and southeast Virginia, including the following areas,
  Chesapeake, Greensville, Hampton/Poquoson, Isle of Wight, James
  City, Newport News, Norfolk/Portsmouth, Southampton, Suffolk,
  Surry, Sussex, Virginia Beach and York.

* WHEN...From 8 PM EDT this evening through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Surface low pressure lifting along a stalled cold front will
    bring periods of rain to the area tonight through Thursday,
    Locally heavy rainfall is possible later this evening through
    the day on Thursday. A swath of 3 to 3.5 inches of rain is
    expected to fall across southeast Virginia and northeast
    North Carolina, with locally higher amounts possible. This
    could result in instances of flooding across the Watch area.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
