...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN WALKER AND
NORTHWESTERN JEFFERSON COUNTIES THROUGH 730 PM CDT...

At 644 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles southeast of Oakman, or 12 miles southwest of Cordova, moving
east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Sumiton, Dora, Adamsville, Graysville, Brookside, Parrish, Oakman,
Maytown, West Jefferson, Cardiff, Gorgas Steam Plant, Burnwell,
Beloit, Quinton, Gorgas, Forestdale, Sayre, Goodsprings, Barney, and
Miller Steam Plant.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for
central and west central Alabama.
