Weather Summary for Iowa
National Weather Service Des Moines IA
444 AM CDT Tue May 14 2024

Today:

Whether the day will be on the nicer side of dreary side will all
depend on where you reside. Areas further north and west will tend to
be more pleasant with at least some sunshine, dry conditions, and
highs into the low to mid 70s. Areas to the south and east will be
cloudier, cooler in the 60s, and will have some light rain and showers
lingering.

Tonight and beyond:

Not a whole lot of reprieve between the outgoing rain and showers and
the next round. By Wednesday afternoon and into Thursday, showers and
thunderstorms return to the area. The overall threat for any stronger
to severe storms remains low. Rounding out the week and through the
weekend, there are additional chances for showers and storms, with the
best widespread opportunity shaping up to be Sunday. Expect highs to
generally be in the 70s through the week after today and into the low
to mid 80s for the weekend.
