Weather Summary for Portions of the Central Plains
National Weather Service Hastings NE
703 AM CDT Fri Apr 26 2024

An unsettled weather pattern is expected to continue across the
region through the end of the week and into the upcoming
weekend...keeping thunderstorm chances around each day. Generally
partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected through Sunday...with
breezy winds. Winds today turn more west to southwesterly with time
today...with speeds of 15 to 25 MPH expected. Saturday winds turn
back to the east...before another frontal boundary swings through
and switches winds to the northwest for Sunday. There will be the
potential for some storms today and Saturday to be strong to
severe...and while large hail and damaging winds are the main
threats...isolated tornadoes and locally heavy rainfall and minor
flooding are also possible. At this time...Monday looks to bring a
brief break from the precipitation chances...before Tuesday brings
another chance for thunderstorms. As far as high temperatures
go...today is expected to range from the mid 60s in the northwest to
mid 70s in the southeast. A wider range in highs is expected for
Saturday...with mid 60s in the northwest to near 80 in the
southeast. Mainly 60s are expected for Sunday...with 70s returning
for Monday and Tuesday.
