...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM HST THIS EVENING FOR THE
ISLAND OF KAUAI IN KAUAI COUNTY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.
* WHERE...The island of Kauai in Kauai County.
* WHEN...Until 1000 PM HST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 651 PM HST, radar indicated moderate to heavy rainfall
over southern portions of Kauai. The heaviest showers are
producing rain rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lihue, Kapaa, Kalaheo, Kekaha, Princeville, Kilauea, North
Fork Wailua Trails, Alakai Swamp Trails, Lawai, Omao, Kokee
State Park, Wailua Homesteads, Hanalei, Hanapepe, Wainiha, Na
Pali State Park, Koloa, Haena, Waimea and Wailua.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.
A Flood Watch is also in effect for Niihau and Kauai until Friday at
6 PM HST.

persists.
