Subject:  Change in Gage Reporting and Flood Categories for Stream
          Gage at North Manchester on the Eel River

Effective at 1200 Coordinated Universal Time/7 AM EST on February
15, 2018, the National Weather Service will change the flood
category stages for the stream gage at North Manchester, IN on the
Eel River.

Because of this change, starting on Thursday February 15, 2018,
flood warnings, flood statements, and flood advisories will
reference the new category levels. This change is part of a recent
re-evaluation of the flood plain with county emergency managers and
city officials.

The new flood categories will be as follows:

1. New Forecast Issuance Stage is 9.0 feet above Gage Zero. The
   previous Forecast Issuance Stage was 7.0 feet above Gage Zero.

2. New Flood Stage is 11.0 feet above Gage Zero. The previous Flood
   Stage was 9.0 feet above Gage Zero.

3. New Moderate Flood Stage is 14.0 feet above Gage Zero. The
   previous Moderate Flood Stage was 11.0 feet above Gage Zero.

4. New Major Flood Stage is 16.0 feet above Gage Zero. The previous
   Major Flood Stage was was 14.0 feet above Gage Zero.
