...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of Lubbock County, including the city of Lubbock.

* WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 933 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain was ending from earlier thunderstorms.
    Rainfall of 0.49 inches in 10 minutes was measured 3 miles
    east-northeast of Lubbock. Minor flooding is already
    occurring in the advisory area and will continue through 10
    AM.
  - Runoff will prolong minor flooding. Only additional light
    rainfall is expected through 10 AM.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Lubbock, Wolfforth, Texas Tech University, Downtown Lubbock,
    Lubbock South Plains Mall, Reese Center and Lubbock Science
    Spectrum.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
