...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of Middle Tennessee, including the following
  counties, De Kalb, Putnam, Smith, White and Wilson.

* WHEN...Until 1000 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 743 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Cookeville, Sparta, Smithville, Algood, Monterey, Watertown,
    Baxter, Alexandria, Dowelltown, Liberty, Burgess Falls State
    Park, Edgar Evins State Park, Center Hill Lake, Bakers
    Crossroads and Hamptons Crossroads.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
