Cooler conditions with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected mainly for the mountains today. Rain and snow showers will spread into the Continental Divide Sunday night into Monday, while dry and windy conditions overspread the remainder of southern Colorado through Wednesday. Critical fire weather conditions will likely return for Monday through Wednesday for the San Luis Valley and southern portions of the southeast plains where fuels are critical. A cooler and wetter pattern will be possible for late week into next weekend. Smoke dispersion is expected to be very good to excellent across the mountains and mountain valleys today, and fair to very good across the plains.
