The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southern Jones County in west central Texas...
  Northern Taylor County in west central Texas...

* Until 315 PM CDT.

* At 1210 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across northern Taylor County. Between 0.75 and 1.25
  inches of rain has already fallen, with additional rainfall
  amounts of 1 to 2 inches possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or
  expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Abilene, Wylie, Merkel, Tye, Hawley, Buffalo Gap, Trent, Dyess
  Afb, Caps, View, Noodle, Potosi, Hamby, Impact, Stith, Hodges,
  Kirby Lake, Lake Fort Phantom Hill and Camp Butman.

This includes Interstate 20 between Mile Markers 262 and 292.

This includes the following Low Water Crossings...
Intersections along Sammons Street, Intersections along Buttonwillow
Parkway, Curry Lane from Clack Street to Catclaw Drive, Texas Avenue
at Arnold Boulevard, Butternut Underpass, South 27th Street at
Catclaw Creek, US 84 frontage Road crossing Little Elm Creek, 2000
block of Oak Street, Antilley Rd. crossing Button Willow Creek and
North 6th Street and Willis.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
