IT WAS THE COLDEST YEAR SINCE 2009...AND THE 10TH COLDEST ON RECORD.

THROUGH THE YEAR...THERE WERE ONLY THREE MONTHS WITH AN AVERAGE
TEMPERATURE ABOVE NORMAL...WITH SEPTEMBER SEEING THE GREATEST POSITIVE
DEPARTURE FROM NORMAL AT +3.4 DEGREES. MARCH SHOWED THE GREATEST
OVER ALL DEPARTURE FROM NORMAL WITH -5.5 DEGREES. IN FACT...THE AVERAGE
TEMPERATURE FOR MARCH WAS NEARLY 17 DEGREES COLDER THAN MARCH OF 2012.
THE HOTTEST TEMPERATURE DURING THE YEAR WAS ACTUALLY IN SEPTEMBER. THIS
WAS THE FIRST YEAR SINCE 1989 WHERE THE HOTTEST TEMPERATURE OCCURRED IN
SEPTEMBER INSTEAD OF JUNE...JULY OR AUGUST.

THROUGH THE YEAR...RAINFALL DURING EACH MONTH WAS WITHIN AN INCH AND A HALF
ABOVE OR BELOW NORMAL. THE MOST RAIN FELL IN DECEMBER...WITH 7.32 INCHES...
OR 2.31 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL.

FOR THE 12TH YEAR IN A ROW...MEASURABLE SNOW FELL. HOWEVER...FOR THE
FIRST TIME SINCE 2009...SNOWFALL WAS BELOW NORMAL. SNOW FELL IN FOUR
MONTHS...AND MEASURABLE SNOW FELL IN THREE MONTHS.
