JULY FEATURED A CONSTANT BATTLE BETWEEN WARM AND HUMID AIR MOVING IN
FROM THE SOUTHWEST AND COOLER AND DRIER AIR MOVING IN FROM THE
NORTH. THE WARM AIR WAS ABLE TO MOVE INTO CONCORD MORE FREQUENTLY
THAN IN AREAS FURTHER TO THE EAST, AND ON THE WHOLE THE MONTH
FINISHED SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL. THE WARMEST WEATHER OCCURRED NEAR
THE END OF THE MONTH WHEN 3 STRAIGHT DAYS TOPPED 90 DEGREES
INCLUDING 96 DEGREES ON THE 29TH.

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 70.8 DEGREES WHICH WAS 0.8 DEGREES ABOVE
NORMAL. THE WARMEST JULY WAS 1872 WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF
75.0 DEGREES. THE COOLEST WAS 1969 AT 65.4 DEGREES.

A TOTAL OF 2.03 INCHES OF RAIN FELL WHICH WAS 1.71 INCHES BELOW
NORMAL AND THE DRIEST JULY SINCE 2011. THE HEAVIEST RAIN FELL ON
JULY 1 WHEN 1.24 INCHES WAS RECORDED. ALTHOUGH THERE WERE MORE DAYS
WITH RAIN THAN NORMAL, THERE WERE FEWER DAYS WITH SIGNIFICANT RAIN.
ONLY 2 DAYS IN THE MONTH RECORDED 0.10 INCHES OR HIGHER, TYING AS
THE FEWEST SUCH DAYS ON RECORD. THE LAST TIME ONLY 2 DAYS IN JULY
HAD 0.10 INCHES OR MORE WAS 1977. THE WETTEST JULY WAS 1915 WHEN
10.29 INCHES FELL. THE DRIEST WAS 1910 WITH ONLY 0.91 INCHES.
