Generalized Statewide Coastal Waters Forecast for Hawaii

.Synopsis for Hawaiian coastal waters...
An upper low will bring the chance of thunderstorms and heavy
rain through Monday. A surface trough near the Big Island will
move slowly west over the weekend bringing moderate southeast
winds east of the trough and northeast winds to the west.

Hawaiian waters within 40 nautical miles including the channels-


.TODAY...Northeast winds 5 to 15 knots near Kauai and Oahu. East
winds 10 to 20 kt elsewhere. Wind waves 2 to 5 feet. Northwest
swell 5 feet. Haze. Widespread showers and thunderstorms over Big
Islands waters. Scattered heavy showers and isolated
thunderstorms elsewhere.
.TONIGHT...East to northeast winds 10 to 20 knots. Wind waves 3
to 5 feet. Northwest swell 5 feet. Haze. Scattered heavy showers
and chance of thunderstorms.
.SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT...Windward waters...Southeast winds 10
to 20 knots. Elsewhere east winds to 10 knots. Wind waves 4 to 6
feet. Mixed swell northwest 6 feet and east 3 feet. Haze.
Scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms.
.MONDAY...Southeast winds 5 to 15 knots. Wind waves 4 to 7 feet.
Mixed swell northwest 6 feet and east 5 feet. Haze. Scattered
heavy showers and thunderstorms.
.MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY...Southeast to east winds 5 to 15
knots. Wind waves 3 to 5 feet. Mixed swell northwest 5 to 8 feet
and east 5 feet. Haze. Scattered showers.
