THE FLOOD WATCH FOR THE SOUTHERN SEWARD PENINSULA COAST NORTHERN
AND INTERIOR SEWARD PENINSULA THE NULATO HILLS THE NULATO HILLS HAS
BEEN UPGRADED TO A FLOOD ADVISORY.

HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE TO FALL OVER THE SOUTHERN SEWARD
PENINSULA AND NULATO HILLS THROUGH MIDDAY ON SATURDAY. RAINFALL
AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE 1 AND 2 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HEAVIER
RAINFALL AMOUNTS. THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO BE EAST OF
NOME ON THE SEWARD PENINSULA AND IN THE NULATO HILLS. RAPID RISES
IN SMALL STREAM ARE EXPECTED TODAY WITH THE LARGER RIVERS IN THE
AREA...INCLUDING THE NIUKLUK AND KOYUK RIVERS...RISING TO NEAR
BANKFULL LEVELS ON SATURDAY.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FAIRBANKS HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WATCH FOR CHENA...LITTLE CHENA AND CHATANIKA RIVERS.

* THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING

* BETWEEN ONE AND TWO INCHES OF RAIN IS EXPECTED TO FALL IN THE
  CHENA AND CHATANIKA BASINS THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING WITH THE
  POSSIBILITY OF LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS. THIS RAIN WILL BE FALLING
  ON SOILS SATURATED FROM RECENT HEAVY RAINFALLS. RAPID RISES WILL
  OCCUR IN THE HEADWATERS OF LOCAL STREAMS AND RIVERS BEGINNING
  TODAY WITH AREAS DOWNSTREAM RISING THROUGH THE WEEKEND.

* EXPECT THE UPPER CHENA RIVER NEAR TWO RIVERS TO BE AT 19.5 FT AT
  MINOR FLOOD STAGE BY SATURDAY NIGHT AND DOWNSTREAM AT MOOSE
  CREEK DAM TO BE AT 24.5 FT AT MINOR FLOOD STAGE BY SUNDAY
  EVENING.

* WATER MAY BE OVER THE ROAD AT MILE 36.9 CHENA HOT SPRINGS
  ROAD...AND THERE MAY BE WATER OVER THE STILES CREEK SHOOTING
  RANGE AND CAMPGROUND...ROSEHIP CAMPGROUND...COMPEAU TRAILHEAD...
  AND THE GRANITE TORS TRAILHEAD.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE
FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE
PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.
