...FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR THE COASTAL PLAINS THROUGH 1
AM TUESDAY...

HEAVY RAINFALL PRODUCING UP TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR IS ONGOING
ACROSS THE COASTAL PLAINS AND THESE STORMS WILL CONTINUE TO PUSH
EAST-SOUTHEAST OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS...WITH INDIVIDUAL CELLS
GENERALLY MOVING NORTHEAST. THE RAIN IS FALLING ON ALREADY
SATURATED GROUND AND ELEVATED RIVER CHANNELS...WHICH COMBINED WITH
UPSTREAM RUNOFF FROM PREVIOUS RAINFALL...WILL LEAD TO SIGNIFICANT
FLASH FLOODING AND RIVER FLOODING CONCERNS. DRY AIR AT MIDLEVELS
WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE IN FROM THE WEST...GRADUALLY ENDING THE
HEAVY RAINFALL THREAT FROM WEST TO EAST BY 1 AM TUESDAY.

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR A PORTION OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS HAS
BEEN CANCELLED. DRY AIR EVIDENT ON WATER VAPOR IMAGERY IS MOVING
INTO THE REGION...WHICH HAS ENDED THE HEAVY RAINFALL THREAT OVER
MOST OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS EXCEPT THE COASTAL PLAINS.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM CDT TUESDAY...

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* A PORTION OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
  AREAS...BASTROP...CALDWELL...DE WITT...FAYETTE...GONZALES...
  GUADALUPE...KARNES...LAVACA...LEE AND WILSON.

* UNTIL 1 AM CDT TUESDAY

* SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL
  ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS...CAUSING UP TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN PER
  HOUR IN THE COASTAL PLAINS. THE HEAVY RAINFALL THREAT WILL
  GRADUALLY END FROM WEST TO EAST THIS EVENING. RAINFALL TOTALS OF
  1 TO 3 INCHES ARE EXPECTED.

* DUE TO THE VERY MOIST CONDITIONS OF THE GROUNDS AND SOILS IN THE
  AREA AND LARGE AMOUNT OF RUNOFF FROM UPSTREAM RAINFALL...RAPID
  FLASH FLOODING OF LOW WATER CROSSINGS AND SOME ROADWAYS WILL BE
  POSSIBLE WHERE HEAVY RAINS DEVELOP. AREA RIVERS AND STREAMS ARE
  ALSO OUT OF BANKS OR IN FLOOD. SOME OF THESE RIVERS AND STREAMS
  WILL REACH THEIR FLOOD STAGES VERY QUICKLY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS FLASH FLOODING IS POSSIBLE IN OR NEAR
THE WATCH AREA. IF YOU ARE IN THE WATCH AREA...PLAN NOW FOR WHAT
YOU WILL DO IF FLASH FLOODING DEVELOPS. STAY INFORMED AND BE
READY TO ACT IF YOU SEE FLOODING OR IF A FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS
ISSUED.

DO NOT DRIVE INTO FLOODED ROADWAYS. SOME ROADWAYS...LOW WATER
CROSSINGS...AND BRIDGES MAY BE INUNDATED OR OVERTOPPED. IF YOU
SEE WATER FLOWING OVER A ROADWAY...DO NOT TRY TO PASS! REMEMBER...
TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.
