* THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON

* A WARM FRONT MOVING NORTH FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO WILL PROVIDE
A FOCUS FOR WIDESPREAD MODERATE RAINFALL THAT CAN BECOME HEAVY
AT TIMES. WIDESPREAD TWO DAY RAINFALL TOTALS COULD AVERAGE
BETWEEN 3 AND 5 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER BANDS OF RAIN
POSSIBLY BETWEEN 6 AND 10 INCHES SOMEWHERE IN THE ADVISORY
AREA. MUCH OF THIS RAINFALL IS LIKELY TO OCCUR THIS AFTERNOON
  AND TONIGHT.

* BY MID-MORNING...RADAR INDICATED INCREASING COVERAGE OF MODERATE
TO HEAVY RAINFALL EXPANDING NORTH AND EAST FROM THE ATCHAFALAYA
BAY AREA. THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL WAS APPROACHING THE GREATER
BATON ROUGE AREA. RADAR RAINFALL ESTIMATES GREATER THAN ONE INCH
OF RAIN HAS ALREADY FALLEN OVER MUCH OF ASCENSION PARISH...A
LARGE PORTION OF LIVINGSTON PARISH AND LOWER PLAQUEMINES PARISH.
RAIN RATES WERE BEGINNING TO EXCEED ONE INCH PER HOUR WITHIN THE
BANDS OF HEAVY RAINFALL. HIGH RATE RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE TO
SPREAD ACROSS THE WATCH AREA THROUGHOUT THE DAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.

RIVER FLOOD WARNINGS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR SEVERAL RIVERS IN THE
FLOOD WATCH AREA. THESE ARE BASED ON SOME OF THE RAIN THAT HAS
ALREADY FALLEN AS WELL AS FORECAST RAINFALL EXPECTED THROUGH
SUNDAY. IF YOU LIVE NEAR THESE WARNED RIVERS OR NEAR OTHER STREAMS
IN THE AREA...TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO PROTECT YOUR LIFE AND
PROPERTY.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE
FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE
PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.
