.Flood Warnings continue for the Turkey River at Elkader and Garber.
Due to the high rainfall rates today rapid rises are occurring along
the Turkey River.

River forecasts take into account both observed and forecast
precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...


Do not drive cars into flooded areas. Remember, it only takes two
feet of water to float most automobiles, including sport utility
vehicles. Turn Around, Don`t Drown!

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Turkey River At Elkader.
* until Friday evening...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  8:45 PM Wednesday the stage was 11.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage this evening and continue to
  rise to near 13.7 feet by Thursday. The river will fall below flood
  stage by Friday morning.
* Impact...At 12.0 feet...Minor flooding occurs in areas near the
  river.

  The Turkey River At Garber.
* from Thursday morning to late Friday night...Or until the warning
  is cancelled.
* At  9:15 PM Wednesday the stage was 11.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Thursday morning and continue
  to rise to near 19.7 feet by Thursday evening. The river will fall
  below flood stage by Friday morning.
* Impact...At 19.0 feet...County Road X3C at the south end of Garber
  becomes inundated.
